Das Racist "Sit Down Man"

One of the best hip hop albums I've heard lately, it features an unusual kind of nonsense lyrics (at least it seems so, many of the times). Produce by a great variety of artists (including Diplo here), it has been considered a great achievement by Das Racist, innovating rapping.
These guys are really original, they even did a videogame, which is similar to their videoclip of the song "Who's that? Brooown" [also included on this album]. Click here to play the videogame.
A good example of these "dada" lyrics (like I've seem some people name them) are the ones featured on "hahahaha jk". Even old Das Racist songs like "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" point at this sort of style.

The playlist is the following:
01. wkcr stretch and bobbito show w quincy jones (intro)
02. all tan everything (ft. jay-z) [prod. sabzi]
03. puerto rican cousins [prod. gordon voidwell and alex kestner] ^
04. hahahaha jk? [prod. boi-1da]
05. town business (ft. kassa overall) [prod. kassa overall]
06. commercial [prod. teengirl fantasy] *
07. people are strange [prod. devo springsteen] **
08. luv it mayne (ft. fat tony & bo p) [prod. tom cruz]
09. amazing (ft. lakutis) [prod. keepaway]
10. fashion party (with chairlift) [prod. chairlift] *
11. rapping 2 u (ft. lakutis) [prod. sha-leik]
12. rooftop (ft. despot) [prod. dame grease]
13. irresponsible (ft. lakutis) [prod. like magic + das racist]*
14. return to innocence [prod. dash speaks]
15. julia (the very best remix) [prod. das racist]
16. roc marciano joint (ft. roc marciano) [prod. mike finito]
17. you can sell anything [prod. diplo]
18. sit down, man (ft. el-p) [prod. scoop deville]
19. sit down, people (by dapwell and quincy jones)

executive produced by le’Roy benros for noizy cricket!! & himanshu suri for greedhead entertainment

mixed and recorded by daniel lynas at wonderful studios except where otherwise noted.

I highly recommend this one. Acquire it. Also, check out their official website.

Die Antwoord's new video for "Evil Boy"

I haven't got much time lately to update the blog: that doesn't mean I won't update it anymore or that I've stopped my musical journey.
This time I bring you south-african's most contemporary curious hip hop group, Die Antwoord. This time I bring you their most recent videoclip, for their song "Evil Boy". Pure genius. Oh, and did you know they did a live performance with Richard D. James? True story.
Their videoclip got banned both from Vimeo and Youtube, sorry. Check their song "Evil Boy" below:

[upcoming bands] Diamond Black Hearted Boy

Psychedelic, awkward, unusual and original. Bohemian? Diamond Black Hearted Boy is that artist emerging from a recent genre, witch house, that finds a way to be different from the other artists. He fuses this "witch house" or gothic chillout or whatever it is with experimental hip hop.

Below is my favourite Diamond Black Hearted Boy tune: "King of Rap (Hand of God)"

Harmonic 313 "When Machines Exceed Human Inteligence"

Harmonic 313 is a solo off-shoot of Mark's Harmonic 313 project with Dave Brinkworth, focusing on "Detroit-Style" hip-hop. Its music is smooth and useful if you're into chilling alone or with some friends.
Brinkworth's music is characterised by an omnipresent spine-chilling wobble bass, nice beats (sometimes with kind of high pitches that fit with the music and help shape it) and on some songs, rap can be heard.
The track list is the following:
1.Dirtbox
2
Cyclotron
3 No Way Out
4 Music Substitute System
5 Köln
6 Galag-A
7 Word Problems
8 Battlestar - eLZhi, ,
9 Cyclotron C64 Sid
10 Call to Arms
11 Flaash
12 Don't Panic
13 Falling Away - Steve Spacek
14 When Machines Exceed Human Intelligence
15 Quadrant 3

Try hearing the whole album. The album may not fit sometimes as a whole, due to the songs versatility. However, this can be pointed out as a plus in Dave Brinkworth's career. My favourite songs are: "Quadrant 3", "Dirtbox", "No Way Out" and "Word Problems".
The album was released in 2009 on Warp Records.
This album has 2 parts: the part 1 can be downloaded here and the part 2 can be downloaded here. Just click on the "here's".

Below, you can hear the song "Dirtbox":

[upcoming bands] Most Hated

"Most Hated was formed 2007 by two incredibly talented- yet extremely different- MC’s named Mazzi and Sneakas. What separates this duo from every other group, is the fact that on one microphone stands a Jewish Israeli, and on the other a Muslim Persian." Nice intro, right?
They make some good music, I first found their work thanks to the portuguese magazine "Ípsilon" (that comes with the newspaper "Público").
If you're into rap like Aesop Rock and similar stuff, probably you could like their flow.
Check them out here.

Clouddead "Clouddead"

One of theirs songs was selected for this blog's playlist- in fact, it's the first one playing right now. This compilation, released in 2001, is really catchy (at least to my ears). Pitchfork gave it an 8.0 out of 10.0. All Music gave it 4 stars, out of 5 stars. It has around 71 minutes and 30 seconds, I think. It compiles the six 10″ singles that the group had previously released, over a period of two years, on Mush. Each track on the CD corresponds to one side of a single.
Extract from wiki: "Clouddead (styled as cLOUDDEAD) was a musical group consisting of the experimental hip hop musicians Doseone (Adam Drucker), Why? (Yoni Wolf), and Odd Nosdam (David Madson).[5] Generally Drucker and Wolf provide the group's vocals while Madson produces the music.[2] Occasionally Madson's vocals can be heard, while Drucker and Wolf provide music, especially for the group's only album.". To me, they're so original, they mix so many instruments into their songs, trully expanding hip-hop into a new world. They have cheesy synths, classy beats, superb flow, everything and above all, it all goes smooth together. Yeah, they're cLOUDDEAD. Their compilation can be yours by clicking here - but please buy their compilation by clicking this shortcut to eBay.

The first part of the first single can be heard right below:
