Nurse with Wound "Rock 'n' Roll Station"

This record seems to fuse spoken word with hip hop, but of course with this awkward NWW touch attached to it. Think of Saul Williams making musique concrète while improvising lyrics and shouting them. This would be far more strange than that thought of yours (if you could imagine it, at least). I can imagine why Steven Stapleton made a record like this: because of his hip hop fascination (particularly Snoop Dogg, I presume).
The track list is the following:
1
Rock 'n Roll Station 6:38

Written-By - Jacques Berrocal* , Vince Taylor
2
The Self Sufficient Sexual Shoe 5:53
3
Two Golden Microphones 17:03
4
A Silhouette And A Thumbtack (Dance In Hyperspace) 9:56
5
R+B Through Collis Brone 5:52
6
Finsbury Park, May 8th, 1:35 pm (I'll See You In Another World) 13:01

I highly recommend this album.

Below, I included a live video of Jean-Hervé Péron from FAUST performing along with Steven Stapleton. The song featured here is "Rock 'n Roll Station" (a bizarre spoken-word song, kind of reminds me an experimental hip-hop side):

Nurse With Wound "Paranoia in Hi-Fi"

This is basically a Nurse With Wound track that compiles many of the fan's fav tunes (like a small part of Salt Marie Celeste, near the ending). It is difficult to hear, you have to give it some efforts and probably skip some parts. It includes many genres, like: easy listening, krautrock, spoken word (that to me, sounds like it has some hip hop beats, like if Stapleton is paying a tribute to Snoop Dogg's music, haha), experimental, drone, noise and many more...
Try listening a part around 19 minutes: it's jazzy, like an evil jazz you'd expect from Steven Stapleton's mind. It's strange.
Then again, it even has a small dose of Salt Marie Celeste (which we've reviewed before around Serotonin Sounds).
Here it is for free, Paranoia in Hi-Fi.

Below is the song "The Bottom Feeder" which can be found in Paranoia in Hi-Fi too:

Nurse With Wound "Salt Marie Celeste"

As many have said, this is one of the most minimalistic musical works of Nurse With Wound... It consists of a drone that strenghtens for more than 1 hour. Steve Stapleton first introduces whispers... them you hear a drone that's hauntingly depressing.
More minutes and you start hearing the supposed ship Salt Marie Celest cracking... Then it seems a bug passes around... or is it a bicycle? It's surreal, as Steven Stapleton's desire makes it. It's just one track, yes. And it is entitled "Salt Marie Celeste".
Get it here, if you dare.

Here it is a video of NWW performing a song (in Auditório Serralves) that I find similar to Salt Marie Celeste:

"England's Hidden Reverse"- a book not to be missed

When reading "England's hidden reverse" you'll feel like diving into an underground esoterical pool of nihilistic artists [COIL, Current 93 & Nurse With Wound]. This piece relates the history of these 3 bands and their original tracks through their musical experiences along time. The synopsis offered by the (now dead) John Ballance is: "It was a nihilistic little group of people. Yet we've all developed and changed and our creativity has been long-lived when it could have gone the other way and everybody could have committed suicide."
A book not to miss, it relates the influences of these groups, their roots. Aleister Crowley, Austin Osman Spare, Thomas Ligotti and Louis Wain. It's a fine way of stepping into these peculiar minds, giving you an awesome interpretation condensed by the bag of thoughts you'll collect while reading this masterpiece written by David Keenan.
I still haven't read it and it's a book that's really hard to get hold of. Nevertheless, it's a book that's really worth it.

I haven't read the book, like I've mentioned before, so you could also annalise some other reviews (which I've also read):
